Bitty & Cozy Newborn Socks Knitting Pattern (FREE!)

I can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside looking at these photos. Dean was only a few days old when I took these! I also made him these socks as soon as I found out I was pregnant with him. That would have been last February! It’s kind of crazy to think I have been saving a blog post since then. To be honest, carrying these bitty little socks around everywhere during our move and storing them away in his closet until his arrival, we would all giggle that there was no way his feet would ever fit inside them. They were just so small! But, alas, they did and I think I figured out the perfect size for those newborn tiny toes. These socks stay on his feet really well, and they’ll last us at least another month before they become too tight. While that’s not very long for a hand knit item to last, only about 2-3 months, they’re perfect for a newborn because they don’t take up much yarn at all. It’s a project you could literally finish in a day or a couple of evenings and then not feel guilty about having limited use. Whether you’re a new mama or looking for a gift for one, these make a pretty precious present!

This is a wonderful pattern for a first-time knitter or beginner. It’s much easier to learn on something small and short-winded than an entire adult sweater, right? I loved teaching myself to knit on baby and toddler clothing. It’s still my favorite thing to make because of all the love that goes into each piece. I hope that you enjoy this pattern. I have several others (and embroidery too) for sale in our online shop. I’d love if you checked them out!
