Spooky season is upon us! Happy October, Dear Readers. How are you enjoying the start to the new month? September and October are my absolute favorite time of year for many reasons. I am ready for some crisp and chilly air after the summer returned to us last week!

I wanted to share with you today a fun idea for adding some spookiness to your home in a simple and subtle way. Jill created these gorgeous pantry labels inspired by what might be found in a Witch’s apothecary! The labels are featured in our Fall 2023 Edition of The Journal.

finding inspiration:

Last October we shared a fun little decor idea for turning your Pantry in a Witchy Apothecary Cabinet. When it comes to holiday decor, I often feel like areas can be become cheesy or hokey rather quickly. I tend to stay away from pieces that scream “Halloween!” literally and figuratively… I am personally not a big fan of signs in the home.

If you are similar, or even just looking for new ideas, then that blog post might be a fun read for you. In it, we take elements from vintage and thrifted items to give our pantry an apothecary vibe. We switched out containers for amber jars, displayed dried flowers and vegetables, and removed any commercial labels.

These labels add another layer to this idea! We wished that we had some cute labels that matched the vibe, and thus, these “Spooky Pantry Labels” were created!

how to use the labels:

Using the labels is the easy part! All you need is a printer, some sticker paper, and scissors to get started. The rest is up to your style preferences.

The labels are made to print onto a standard piece of printer paper, about 8.5 x 11-inches. You will want to use un-cut pieces of white sticker paper for the best results. Then, cut out the labels with a pair of scissors.

Once the labels are printed and cut, you can peel off the back of the sticker paper and place them onto your jars. We used amber glass jars as well as vintage jars.
