Video: A Simple & Slow Easter
Easter time is here again. I love it because it is a sure sign that the world is changing into a beautiful new season where we live, one of growth and warmth. It is symbolic in so many ways. I also love all of the little spring symbols that come along with it like tulips and daffodils, bunnies and ducklings, and especially the Easter egg! We have been working towards having a more meaningful, simple, and sustainable Easter holiday for several years now. I think, as time has gone by and my children have grown older, I am realizing that the lesser expectations we have about celebrating, the more fun we have doing these slow and simple tasks. Simply putting fresh flowers on the table brings about a sense of something special!

I made Dean a couple of sweet little bunny toys for his Easter basket. You can watch me make them step by step in the video below!
I used linen and some scrap cotton and cotton flannel that I thrifted. I drew some simple shapes on a piece of printer paper, turning them into a pattern to follow for my fabric. Then I sewed the print sides of the fabric together, facing each other, and turned them inside out. The body is filled with whole flaxseed, dried lavender, dried chamomile, and dried rose petals. You can purchase these dried flowers in our online apothecary!
